Notes from the shop wall
Short notes on what is worth knowing before a concealer goes on a wall: which way the outlet is hung, what the cord end has to match, where the clips hold, and what the words on the box stand for.
We write these because the questions arrive in the same order every time. Most of them are settled by looking at the wall for ten seconds, and the rest by a number printed on the back of a television.
How a concealer mounts over a wall outlet
The plate plugs into the upper receptacle and covers the face. Nothing gets unscrewed and no wires get touched.
Reading the ground pin before you order
The round hole sits either below the flat slots or above them. We cut two separate plates because of that one difference.
C7 and C13 ends, and which one your television takes
One end is a figure eight with two rounded lobes. The other is a squarish block with three openings.
What never to do with a flat cord
Flat does not mean it can go under a rug or inside a wall. These are the placements the instructions rule out.
Plate sizes and what the adhesive actually holds
Three faceplate sizes are common in American homes, and the clips hold on about half the surfaces people try them on.

Where to start
Start with the ground pin. It decides which half of what we make can go on your wall, and it is one round hole sitting either above the flat slots or below them.
