What this site knows about you

What the pages collect

Nothing typed. There is no sign up, no newsletter box, no comment field and no saved basket, so there is no form on this site into which a name or a card number could be entered.

The filter on the picker page runs entirely inside your browser. The choices you press are never sent anywhere and are gone the moment the tab closes.

What the host records

The pages are served from a content network, and like every such network it keeps request logs: an address, a timestamp, the page asked for and the browser string. That record exists to keep the site standing up and to spot abuse.

We keep one count of our own on top of that, and it wakes up only when a visit arrives from a search engine. A small script served from this same address posts back the page you are on, its title, the search engine that sent you, your browser language and your screen size.

What survives that post is a daily tally and nothing else: how many people came in from search that day, how many pages they opened, which engine sent them and which country the network puts them in. The page addresses themselves are not stored. To tell a second page view from a second reader inside the same day, the tally holds a one-way hash of your address, your browser string and the date, mixed with a secret of ours; the address cannot be read back out of it, and the hash is worthless by the next morning.

There is no third-party analytics service behind this, no tag manager and no advertising pixel. Nothing is written into your browser either: no cookie, no stored identifier, nothing that could follow you to another site. Apart from the counter described above, a page asks only for its own script, its stylesheet, its fonts and its photographs, all served from this same address.

Email you send us

A message to the address on the contact page is kept as long as the question is open and for a while afterwards, because the second message about the same wall usually arrives months later.

It is not added to a list and nothing is ever sent to it that you did not ask for. Ask for it to be deleted and it will be.

Links that leave this site

Every buy button opens a listing on a different domain. From that click onward the privacy terms of that domain apply instead of these, and it will see that a visit came from here.

Nothing travels in that click beyond the ordinary fact of which page it came from, and no identifier of ours goes with it.

Asking us to remove something

Write to the address on the contact page and say what you want removed. Since there is no account, the only thing there can be to remove is correspondence, and that is deleted on request without argument.
